Here are some BASIC instructions for using TTS Datamaster.   Since you only have 20 free uses we need to use them as sparingly as possible and not waste any trying to get the software to work.  Before you begin you need to know the com port number your cable is attached to. With laptops using a serial cable that is pretty much always COM1 with USB you need to use the USB Finder page www.tbichips.com/usbfind.htm to determince what COM port number is assigned to your USB Cable before proceeding.

If installing on a laptop running Vista, you need to check out this page www.tbichips.com/vistattsdatamaster.htm before installing.

Once you have installed the software after downloading the correct version from clicking on links below.

For 1986-89 TPI cars use TTS32
For 1990-92 TPI cars use TTS8D
For 1991-93 4L80E trucks use TTS85
For 1993 4L60E trucks use TTSE6
For 1994-95 4L60E trucks use TTS0D
For 1994-95 4L80E trucks use TTS31

For Typhoon Syclone 4.3L Turbo use TTSTT

You will then run the program.

1. To Record data, click File and then Record ALDL Data.

2.  You will get the warning that you only have 20 free uses and you will click ok which at this point will deduct 1 run from your available recording runs regardless of whether you get it to successfully work from this point on which is why I am trying to explain a little about each screen during the process.

3. Now that we are in the Serial Data Acquisition program.  Click Setup and Com Ports and choose the Com port associated with your cable that I had you look up at the beginning.

4. Now we are going to tell the computer where to put our data and what the file will be called. So choose File and Open

5. Default is Testdata way down under the TTS datamaster program folder which is way to big of a pain to find once your done so I always put mine in the My Documents folder and if you have a lot of stuff in that folder already then you may want to create a TTS Data folder in your My Documents folder and then select your folder.

6. Now Give the File a name and since your sending it to me typically your First Initial and Last Name along with whatever chip version of mine your currently running and perhaps the date on the end is a good choice for the file name.  Once you click OPEN the file is created and you are ready for some logging.

7. Now you will click Start and the Recs count at the upper right should start to climb to indicate the computer is logging data to that file created in step 6.  Drive your vehcle around preferrably until that record count gets over 6000 records but if it really runs poorly then just do the best you can.  I want some cruising around and use different gears and accelerate from low rpms to high at different throttle rates so I can get data in as many areas as possible and a few WOT runs and then before your stop your log let it idle in the drive way for a minute in park and a minute in drive and then click Stop and send that file to me via email to sales@tbichips.com I also recommend that you tell me what TTS Datamaster your using whether 8D, OD, E6, 85 or a few others that I see every now and then so that I open this file with the correct program.
