| I have decided not to build engines myself as I just really
don't have the time. Here are a couple engine builders that build engines specifically for TBI that perform well, quality built for good reliability and reasonably priced.. Herb builds a 320hp 360lbs of torque black magic project engine clone except stock vortec heads where I ported mine but he can do that as well. He also does a really nice 383 version as well for some serious 4x4 or towing torque. hlgper@comcast.net or (281) 546-6232 Located out in TX Also, check out the LKN Speed project under customers projects. They built this engine specifically to run with TBI and have some good dyno numbers even using stock throttle body. Should make really good numbers with a larger throttle body. (704) 363-8709 Located in NC. I put the location so if your eastern US you might want to talk with LKN and west coast for Herb. Neither of these shops pays me anything so if anybody has any issues with either let me know. So far I haven't received any complaints about either and I do a lot of PCM programming for OBD2 stuff for Herb and I let LKN fix my 383ci LT1 after its disaster on the dyno. he didn't build the first motor for the LT1 but he fixed it back up for me and was very thorough and professional. He also has a very nice facility with a lot of specialty equipment and my LT1 runs really strong and has a good 12k miles on it now with no issues.
This page is a list of modifications for the DIY crowd that I have used with success on the TBI equipped vehicles. I do not make any money by recommending these products but I would like to share this info to help others not make the same mistakes that I did modifying my first few TBI engines.
